Tribute

James B. Parker 77, just short of his 78th birthday, died on Monday, November 25, 2019 in Garden City, Idaho, after a battle with diabetes and heart disease. Jim was born in Grass Valley, California on December 8, 1941, the day after Pearl Harbor. He was the third child of Gertrude (Brooks) and Caddie Parker. Jim enlisted in the Marine Corps after graduating from Castlemont High School in Oakland, California in 1959. He was sent to Embassy School and assigned to Embassy Duty in Paris, France. Jim met his wife, Cecile Boivin at the American Embassy in Paris. Jim and Cecile were married in her hometown of Rumford, Maine.

Jim and Cecile moved to Washington, D.C. where Jim graduated from American University. He was employed as an Information Analyst to the White House by the CIA. Jim later became a remodeling contractor in the Washington D.C. area. Later, Jim, became the National Director of the Young Marines.

After retirement, Jim and Cecile traveled the United States and Canada for three and one half years in their RV. They then retired in Garden City, Idaho.

He is survived by his three children, William and his wife, Susie of Brunswick, Maryland; Monique and her husband, Albin Jones of Half Moon Bay, California, Erik and his wife, Azurell of Orange County, California; his six grandchildren, Lacy, Mia, Corwin, Deirdre, Grey, and Sam; great granddaughter, Milah. Brother and sister-in-law Dale and Jeannette Neuman of Boise, Idaho, sister-in-law, Gerry Boivin of Rumford, Maine, and Eda of California. He is survived by many nieces and nephews. He is survived by his wonderful companion, "guardian angel" and caregiver, Lula Dorlarque. He was predeceased by his parents and his two brothers, Chuck and Lewis and his sister-in-laws, Arlie and Jeannie. Thank you to the Horizon Hospice staff from Meridian, Idaho for their wonderful care.

A viewing will be held at Cloverdale Funeral Home, 1200 N. Cloverdale Road, Boise, Idaho 83713 on November 7, 2019 at 11 a.m. with a memorial service at 12 p.m. An interment will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery at 3 p.m. (10100 Horseshoe Bend Road, Boise, ID 83714)

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Young Marines National Youth Organization, 17739 Main Street, Suite 250, Dumfries, VA 22026.
