Hearts Love 31

James & Carla Nicklas

Tribute

James Martin Nicklas (Jim) went to heaven to join his wife Carla Rae of 40 years on April 12, 2022. He was born in Monterey, CA and although passed in Hemet, CA with family at his side, he resided in Boise, Idaho for the past 17 years.

He proudly served in the US Navy from 1955 – 1963. He had a long career as a general sales manager in the automotive industry but his love was the years he spent as a high school football coach.

He is survived by his son Jeffery Martin Nicklas and daughter ShelleyAnne (Nicklas) Tande, grandsons Kirk, Daniel and Kacee, six great grandsons Austin, Blake, Elijah, Noah, Ruger and Eli, and five great granddaughters Patricia, Alexis, Payton, Pricilla and Neveah.

Carla Rae (Hickey) Nicklas passed peacefully in her home town of Boise on January 1, 2022. She spent most of her days crafting and especially loved sewing quilts and donating them back to the community. She is survived by her daughter Rachelle Johnson and two grandchildren Sara and Hunter, brothers Tom and Jeff Hickey and sister Kathy (Hickey) Nicklas.

Jim and Carla shared a love for football and golf together. Although they quietly spent the last few years at the home in Boise, Idaho, for many of their years they enjoyed traveling and spending time hosting get-togethers for friends and family. They were active donators to many charity organizations such as St. Jude, ASPCA, Boise Native American Reservations, Veterans and American Cancer Society.
