Tribute

Joan Prigge passed away on Friday January 1, 2021 at her home in Boise, Idaho at the age of 79 after a long and vigilant battle with cancer. She was born on August 23, 1941 in Seattle, Washington. She and her much beloved identical twin sister, Janet White of Parma, Idaho, are the daughters of Daniel Walter Oliver and Peggy Ann Madane. She grew up in Hawaii on the island of Oahu. There she met her first husband, Donald Poor, and they later married in the Los Angeles area in 1959. She pursued her lifelong passion for art through painting, gardening and needle point in the area until moving to Parma, Idaho in 1972.

In 1986, Joan divorced and moved to Boise where she started a number of businesses in advertising, construction, antique cars, and promotional events. In a chance encounter at their lawyer’s office, she met her second husband, Robert Prigge, and they were married in Boise on May 31, 1989. They shared decades of travel, adventure and other escapades. There was always something exciting happening in their lives. Robert passed away in 2008 with Joan remaining in their home.

Joan is survived by her identical twin sister Janet White and her three daughters, Kimberley Poor and Karen Poor both residing in North Carolina, and Margie Preston living in Boise. She has 5 grandchildren Daniel Pierce & wife Virginia, Randi Seward & fiancé John, Megan Lyle & husband Harrison, Colt Seward & fiancé Mersades, and Addysen Stanley. She has 3 great grandchildren Tatum, Oliver, and RenaeLynn. Joan was preceded in death by her parents Daniel Oliver and Peggy Madane.

Her daughters will be holding a tribute for her in Hawaii, her favorite place, at a later date.
