Joyce Elaine (Pennington) Colton, 78, of Boise, ID passed away Thursday, July 20. Joyce had been dealing with Alzheimer’s for the past few years, being cared for by her family and spending the last few months at Beehive Homes (Nampa). Joyce was born on Sept. 6, 1938 to Austin Lewis Pennington and Velma Elaine (Keller) Pennington. She grew up near cattle auction yards from Boise to Calif. Before her family settled in Williams, Calif. Where her father would run the Williams Auction Yard and her mother made her famous pies in the cafe. Joyce was the oldest of 10 kids.

She later married Donald (Bud) Keith Colton in Palo Alto in 1958 and then settled in Hayward, Ca. and raised 3 boys; Mark, Tim and Don. Joyce worked at Mervyns for many years, but most of all, she was a loving mother and housewife. In 1981, Joyce & Don moved back to Boise, ID. where they would retire. After her husband Don passed away, she loved spending time with her grandkids and you could usually find her at one of their sporting events. She also liked watching Judge Judy (even though she said she hated her). Ha-ha;

Joyce is preceded in death by her husband, Donald (Bud) Keith Colton; her parents, Austin Lewis Pennington and Velma Elaine (Keller) Pennington; her siblings Beverly Okamoto, Eugene Pennington, JoAnn Burkhardt & Dave Pennington.

Joyce is survived by her 3 sons, Mark, Tim, &Don (Leesa); her 2 brothers and 3 sisters, Gary (Nancy), Bill (Becky), Linda (Dex), Wilma (john), Carol; 6 Grandchildren, Austin, Dyson & Stacia (Mark), Nick (Don), Justen, Melanie (Tim); 7 Great Grandchildren, Talinn, Sylver & Braeah (Austin), KashLynn, Koral & Kolver (Dyson) and Daxton (Stacia)

The Colton family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Beehive Homes of Nampa for the special Love & Care that you provided for our Mother. Thank You.

Services will be held Saturday, July 29 at 2:00 pm at Cloverdale Funeral Home. Family and Friends are all welcome.
