Tribute

Judie Gillett Dolby passed away peacefully at her home on May 1, 2021 with her family by her side.
Judie was born on September 6, 1941 in San Diego California to Donald and Laverne Gillett. She attended St. Joseph's Catholic Boarding School in Alameda, California.
She was married to Michael Dolby Sr., the Mother to six children and a dear friend to many. Judie's smile lit up a room when she entered it. She was always the life of the party and up for any adventure. She was an accomplished actress in school, awarded a scholarship to a New York performing art school but knew her true love was to raise a family.
Resourcefulness was her gift from God. She could solve any challenge in her life, with nothing more than sheer will and determination. She defied all of the odds and proved the best doctors wrong by surviving terminal breast cancer for more than 46 years.
Her talents ran deep from teaching art classes in her garage, to acting in commercials and selling real estate. Her creativity touched every aspect of her life. As a young child in boarding school she always decorated the Christmas trees and made the May Crowning wreathes for Mary. She loved music and the arts, finding deep connection with people who shared this passion. Her home displayed everything that was important to her, predominately her family and faith.
She was blessed to have traveled extensively in her life. Her travels included Portugal, Spain, Italy, France, Australia and numerous tropical island. Her crowning glory of travel was her trip to the Holy Land, connecting her deeper in her faith.
She was an active member of St. John's Cathedral and was lovingly dedicated to her church.
Her vigil will be held on Friday May 14th at 6:00 pm with the funeral mass on Saturday May 15th at 11:00 am. Both will be at St. John's Cathedral.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made on her behalf to St. John's Cathedral, Boise, Idaho
