Be the first to offer your condolences on Keith's Tribute Wall
Keith Leon Essig, 60, of Boise, Idaho, left us on Tuesday, October 23, 2018. Beloved Husband, Father, and Brother. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Feleice Essig, and his children: Megan and Nic Bushman, Kris Essig, Tabitha Essig, and Jared Kilfoyle; along with his sister Marla Purin and brothers Gary and Kurt Essig.
Keith was born on November 30, 1957 at Mountain Home Airforce Base to Elmer Essig and Ida Martindale. He spent the early years of his life in Mississippi before ultimately returning home to Idaho and working for Simplot for a total of 23 years. In that time, he would eventually marry and become a father. Married and divorced, Keith, with his 3 young children met Feleice Lynn Kilfoyle of Ogden, Utah. Jared was born on November 11, 1996; shortly after, Keith and Feleice married on April 24, 1997. In 2004 they made Boise their home. There he attended Boise State studying Business and marketing. He was voted President of the Business Club-Delta Epsilon Chi. During that time he also worked as a Chef for Boise State. After college, he was promoted to management and corporate positions for Jackson’s Food Stores.
Keith was a family man, a Chef, a lover of food and all things history related. Working hard his whole life, he held many titles, and often times had two or three jobs to support his family. Keith spent his retired years spending time with his family and diligently writing a book of the Essig Family History. He will always be remembered as the man who could make a joke out of anything. He loved making people laugh.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 26, 2018 at 1pm at the Frontier Ward, Meridian East Stake, located at 11918 W Ustick Rd in Boise.
