Kelly Jon Baker, age 59, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 in St. Luke’s Meridian. He was born in Cascade, ID to Ronald Baker and Marilyn (Porter) Ward and was the third youngest of four children. Kelly had a love for sports at a young age. Playing baseball, football, rugby, ultimate frisbee, golf, and darts on leagues throughout his life. He had received a full ride football scholarship out of high school, and later took great pride in coaching optimist football for several years. He grew up with a passion for motorcycles, whether it was helping build them from the ground up or riding through the Rocky Mountains. You could always find him in his garage revving an engine and tinkering around on his next venture. Kelly also had a zest for cooking, and always wanted to make sure everyone’s stomachs were full especially when it came to dessert. He enjoyed family get togethers where he could show his love through his food. His best attribute was his ability to make everyone laugh. He was a beacon of light with the jokes he told and his “Kellyisms”. He will continue to bring smiles to all of our faces through the laughter we shared.
Kelly is survived by his two daughters Brandie (Andrew) Myers and Monica (David) Myers, his grandchildren Kaydance, Jemma and Karder, his brothers Richard Baker and Gordon (JoAnne Anderson) Baker, his sister Rhonda Jarrett, her children Amanda Jarrett and Thomas (Madison Bolen) Jarrett with their daughter Marilyn, and his sister Melissa (Rick) Mullins. SUNRISE TO SUNSET
IT'S TRUE LIFE'S MOST DELICATE COLORS
HAVE A GIFT FOR AN EVENINGS GLOW
STAND AT THE CHANCE TO SEE HER
THE SPIRIT OF HER ESSENCE GROWS
CONFINED TO ONE BRIEF MOMENT
TIME STANDS STILL IN A DREAM
IF ONLY WE COULD HOLD HER
WE WOULD KNOW THEN WHAT SHE MEANS
MARVEL AT HER BEAUTY
WHEN SHE LAYS DOWN FAST TO SLEEP
TOMORROW SHE WILL WAKEN
THAT'S ALL WE HOPE TO KEEP
