Kendra Joy Olson went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 in Boise, ID. Her name, Kendra Joy, means knowing & understanding the joy of the Lord. That was emulated in her life by mercy, compassion & service to others. Her kindness touched everyone she met.

Kendra was born November 13, 1981 in Minot, North Dakota to Eugene & Catherine Schock. She grew up in Garrison, Park River, Devils Lake & Mandan, ND. She graduated as a home school student from the North Dakota Division of Independent Study in 2000.

After attending Bismarck State College in ND for 1 year, she transferred to Northwestern College, St. Paul, MN, & graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Visual Arts Education. She was an accomplished artist in various mediums, and taught elementary art in Fargo, ND, Public Schools from 2004 – 2011.

On November 25, 2006, she married Benjamin Olson, son of Rodger & Helene Olson (Tioga, ND). They moved from Fargo, ND to Meridian, ID in 2011, where she tutored a home school family & worked at the Family Christian Store. Their daughter, Kadence Joy, was born August 21, 2011. The greatest joys of her life were being a wife & mother. In 2014, the Olson family moved to Kuna, ID. Most recently, she was employed as an administrative assistant with Farm Bureau Insurance.

She took delight in entertaining friends in her home & spending quality time with her family. Kendra had great compassion for others & enjoyed sharing the love of Jesus with others. She so enjoyed worshiping the Lord. Gardening, playing games, doing crafts & being with her family were the pastimes that she most enjoyed.

Kendra is survived by her husband Ben, daughter Kadence, parents Gene & Cathie Schock (Meridian, ID), brothers Toby (Kelly & Ayla) of Eugene, OR & Ryan (Connie) of Shenzhen, China, & many aunts, uncles & cousins.

Her Celebration of Life service will be held Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at 10 AM at Life Church in Meridian, ID. Cloverdale Funeral Home of Boise, ID is handling the arrangements.
