LeIla May Shaw

On September 5, 2021, Le Ila Shaw passed and met her Lord and Savior. Le Ila lived a full life as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be dearly missed.
Le Ila was born on December 1, 1931, in Fairmount, North Dakota to Herman and Gertrude Moeller. While in high school in Wahpeton, North Dakota she met Allan Shaw, they were married on August 20, 1950, and they moved to Boise the following spring.
Le Ila was a homemaker and she and Allan were blessed with five children: Bruce (Robin) Shaw, Cheryl (Karl) Ames, Dean (Karen) Shaw, Cindy (George) Rowe and Valerie Clark.
The family attended St. Paul’s Lutheran Church for many years where Le Ila was proudly a member of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, along with volunteering with the Altar Guild, cleaning the church and assisting with rummage sales. After St. Paul’s closed, they became members of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church where they remained the rest of their lives.
Le Ila was an avid home baker and she enjoyed making wedding cakes, baking for friends, family and church functions along with creating cherished memories with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her social life also included being a Girl Scout Leader for 10 years, being a member of Sons of Norway and the Model-A club in Boise with Allan.
Traditions were important to Le Ila, she loved hosting birthday parties with her friends and family. Family moments that will be missed most are making lefse, gingerbread houses, Christmas cookies and decorating her home where everything always looked just right. She always loved getting her family together, no matter the occasion or the reason. She had a sharp memory and could recall events exactly as they happened.
She is survived by her five children, 13 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.
Interment will take place at Terrace Lawn on September 13, 2021, at 10:00 a.m.
Le Ila’s memorial service will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 5009 Cassia Street, Boise, on Monday, September 13, 2021, at noon.
