Linda Rae Doughty

Linda Rae Yates Doughty (68), passed away in Eagle, Idaho on Wednesday, November 24, 2021.  Graveside Services will be held on Monday, December 6, 2021 at 2:00 PM, at Westlawn Cemetery in Gering, NE with Aaron Prohs officiating.

Linda was born on January 5, 1953, in Scottsbluff, NE to Donald Lee Yates and Darlyne Yates (Wambolt).  She received her education and graduated from Scottsbluff Senior High School.   On July 2, 1971, she married Steve Doughty and together they made their home in Scottsbluff.   Their son, Chuck, was born in 1972.  Steve was drafted into the Army in 1972, and the couple moved to Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA for 3 years. After living at Ft Lewis, the family moved to Gering, NE, where they welcomed their second son, Donny Doughty in 1975.

Linda enjoyed raising her boys and helping with her grand babes.   Linda worked at Regional West Medical Center for 31 years.   She loved to work and to keep herself busy and enjoyed watching her grandchildren's activities.  She spent hundreds of hours "Toll Painting" and laughing with her mom.  Both were very talented.  The center of her life was Steve, her boys and their children and her beloved dog "Skittles".  She has spent the last year living in Eagle, ID.

She is survived by her son Donny Doughty, Granddaughter Alyssa Doughty and her children, Corbin and Charleigh Williams and Madilynn Spengler, Grandson, Brett Doughty and Marissa and their daughter, Imani Doughty.  All of Gering, NE.  Her sisters, Lanna Lewis (Scottsbluff, NE) and her children Ryan, Kyle and Ty Lewis.  LouAnn and Jesse Rhode (Eagle, ID), and her children Nic, Josh and Kim Janicek.  Sister-in-law, Lori Miranda and brother-in-law David Doughty.  Numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Steve, son Chuck, and her parents Don (Unk) and Darlyne Yates, Brother' in laws, Gordon E Lewis JR and Tom Doughty.

The family would like to thank Jenny Doughty Lujan for her support and care of her mother-in-law. She has given so much support to all family members in this past year.
