On Oct. 2, 1959, she met the love of her life, Harold Mewes, while at Skateland in Boise.  Tradition being --on your birthday you stand in the middle while everyone else skates round you singing Happy Birthday.  They both got pushed in by friends, it was her 17th birthday and his 20th.  One year and 6 days later they married in a civil ceremony with a reception at her mother’s house.  Two years later they had their marriage blessed in the Catholic Church.

Their first child “Scotty” was born in Boise, ID in 1962.  Their second son, “Mikey” arrived in 1963 at Mt. In August 1978 the family moved again, this time to Meridian, Idaho.  Harold and Linda bought their forever home, as after 20 years of military life it was time to plant roots.  Linda got a job at Mercy Medical Center in Nampa, ID in the ICU.  In 1981 she decided to further her education again and attended Boise State University.  Working full time, school part time, she received her Associates Degree in Nursing in 1983.  After working in this capacity for a few years, she returned to BSU in 1987 receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing in 1990.  Linda began working at the Boise VA Medical Center in 1989 in ICU and ECU until her retirement in January 2005.

Throughout her life Linda was ever dedicated to her Spiritual life and her personal relationship with the Father Almighty.  She helped to establish the Parish Nursing in Holy Spirit Church, working in this to bring nursing care and ministering the Eucharist to the homebound parishioners in need.  She attended/volunteered at many Evangelization and nursing retreats with the parish.
