Louisa A. Fitzwater

Lou Ann Fitzwater, 83, of Boise, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday evening, February 17, 2018.

Lou Ann was born on October 23, 1934 in Anita, Iowa. She was the fourth child of Norine (Hall) and Harold Duff’s five children. Shortly after the start of WWII the family moved to Tustin, California where Lou Ann grew up and married her first husband, Robert Wickliff. During the 12 year marriage they had two children, a boy Philip Wickliff and a daughter Sharon (Chaney). They later divorced.

She then met and fell in love with her second husband, Jonathan R. Fitzwater, a professional Marine who was stationed at El Toro Marine Corps Air station just outside of Tustin, California. They were married December 4, 1965. She traveled with Jon during most of his service in the Marine Corps. They made their home in Orange, California and had three more children, identical twin boys Darrel and Derek Fitzwater and another daughter, Kimmie Lou.

In 1974, Jon retired from the Marine Corps and in 1976 they moved to Boise, Idaho.

She was a homemaker who was very active in her community and church. She loved camping and fishing with her husband, children, grandchildren, and friends.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Jonathan; sons, Philip (Di) of Boise, Darrell (Rhonda) of Boise, Derek (Nicolle) of Boise; daughter, Kimmie (Matthew) Strang of Vancouver, WA; sixteen grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Ted and Gene; sister, Doris; and a daughter, Sharon.

A Celebration of Life will held at the Cloverdale Church of God located at 3755 S. Cloverdale Rd. on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. There will be a reception following the service.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established at the Cloverdale Church of God.
