For many years, Lucian and Rose sang in the adult choir which they particularly enjoyed. Lucian was also active in Boy Scout Troop 39 as a Liaison Officer.

Lucian loved to travel and visit family and friends. He enjoyed working in his vegetable garden which had its own challenges every year. His wife Rose, his seven children, and the Catholic Church were the most important people and activities in his life.

Lucian married Rose Thielen at St. Mary’s Church in Elkton, SD on June 24, 1947. Together they resided in Inglewood, CA, Hawthorne, CA, and then Bishop, CA before moving to Boise, Idaho in 1952. Lucian is survived by his seven children: William of Berkeley, CA; Elizabeth of Horseshoe Bend, ID; Richard of Taos, NM; Daniel and Debbie (Mallory) of Boise, ID; Kenneth and Rose (Winkler) of Stockton, CA; Stephen of Austin, TX; and Helen Roden of Boise, ID. Over the last several years Lucian was especially grateful for all of the attention and excellent care he received from his family, friends, caregivers and especially the VA in Boise, Idaho.
