MICHAEL LEROY MCFADYEN

February 28, 1947 ~ September 29, 2022 (age 75) 75 Years Old

Tribute

On Thursday Sept. 29th, Michael McFadyen, a faithful and loving husband, father, and grandfather went home to be with his Lord and Savior at the age of 75.  Mike was born to Orval and Gertrude McFadyen in Klamath Falls, OR on Feb. 11, 1947.  He grew up in Klamath Falls and graduated high school there.  After high school he attended Oregon Institute of Technology where he graduated with an Associate’s degree in Accounting. He took his degree and moved to Longview, WA to work for Weyerhaeuser as an accountant.  In Longview, he was forever changed, when he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.  His love and zeal to know the Lord and make him known never faded through all his years!  He loved to tell others about Jesus.  In Longview, he met the love of his life Teresa at a Bible Study.  They were married on April 27, 1974 and were married for 48 wonderful years.  They were blessed with three wonderful children David, Andrea, and Jonathan.

In 1985 they moved to Boise, ID where they have resided to this day.  Mike worked in accounting and management at various companies in Boise, but his passion was to serve the Lord.  He was blessed to be part of a loving church family at Westside Bible Church where he served the Lord as an elder, minister, and faithful servant among his brothers and sisters in Christ.

Mike so enjoyed spending time with his family whether it was traveling, holidays, special meals, or taking pictures of God’s beauty.  He loved the Sawtooths, and the Oregon Coast.  Mike was always ready for a road trip.  He loved to be out seeing all God’s Creation!

Mike’s life was drastically changed when he contracted the West Nile Virus, which left him paralyzed and in a wheelchair.  He suffered through many surgeries, doctor appointments, and tests.  Through it all he kept his eyes on the Lord and shared the gospel to his neighbors, doctors, nurses, and friends.  He used the additional 16 years to spend time with his wife, kids, and grand kids.

One of dad’s favorite versus is Act. 16:31 “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved.  This verse is on a plaque by the front door of his home.  He wanted all who came to see him to know Jesus Christ and to be saved.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Orval and Gertrude McFadyen.  Surviving family members include his wife, Teresa.  His son David and wife Cheryl.  His daughter Andrea Gross and husband Jacob Gross.  His son Jonathan and wife Ladessa.  His sister Carol Veatch and husband Mike Veatch, their son Steven Veatch.  His 7 grandchildren: Isaac and Ryan Gross, Dylan and Gracie McFadyen,  Abbie, Luke, and Sam McFadyen.

In lieu of flowers Mike requested that any donations be given to the Gideons or Westside Bible Church for outreach.  You can donate to the Gideons at www.sendtheword.org and help send bibles to the world.

Mike’s Celebration of Life will be on Saturday October 8th at 1030 AM at Westside Bible Church in Meridian, Idaho.
