Margaret Bernice Keller was born July 11, 1937 in Pine Ridge, SD to John Paul Heeney and Emma Lea Smith. Her family moved to Nampa in the early 1950s where she met the love of her life, Francis Keller. They were married in November 1961 and were blessed with four children over the years. Bernice and Frank were married for 43 years before Frank passed away in 2005. Bernice was a homemaker which was no easy task given Frank's passion for education and teaching which led to living in 5 different states. She was an incredibly strong woman who beat colon cancer and outlived scleraderma
. Bernice loved walking, singing, and spending time with family and friends. She is greatly missed.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Paul and Kendra Keller of Richland, WA, Susan and Robert Marston of Boise, Pamela and Gordon Blewett of Benton City, WA, and Patricia and Aaron Cook of Boise; four grandchildren and one step-grandchild (Amanda Terry, David Marston, Zac Cook, Maggie and Katie Keller); two brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law (George Jones of Meridian, Harry and Bertha Johnson of Reno) and many nieces and nephews. Her parents and siblings Frances Jones, Patricia Heeney, Delores Kinchloe, Vitales Young, and Jean Jones preceded her in death.
The family wishes to thank the nurses at APEX and the hospice care nurses from All Care for their support during over the last few months.
The Vigil Service will be held at Cloverdale Funeral Home, 1200 N Cloverdale Rd. in Boise on Thursday, January 9, 2020 at 7pm with a viewing an hour prior at 6pm. The funeral Mass will be held at Risen Christ Catholic, 11511 Lake Hazel Road in Boise on Friday, January 10, 2020, at 10 am. Bernice's family warmly invites all who knew her to attend the services. Burial will be at Cloverdale Cemetery in Boise.
