Tribute

Micki L. Sechrest passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at home, surrounded with her loving family.
Micki was born in Louisville, KY on June 11, 1925 to Harry R. and Elizabeth A. Duncan. As a child Micki went through plenty of trials while living in and out of foster care. Those same trials would give her the skills and tools for survival later in life. Micki often reflected that it taught her to get along with everybody, and that she did! Living with different foster families and parents, she learned the importance of getting along with others at an early age. Absence of a family during her younger years, would give her the desire to have a family of her own someday and she would be the kind of parent that would love and care about her children. As the Lord would provide later in her life, he blessed her with a loving family.
On September 18, 1943 Micki married Herb Wilbert in New Orleans, LA., at the home of Gary Miles, and later, they would name their son Gary after him. Herb and Micki would travel, as Herb was in the service. From this union came two beautiful children; daughter Gayle, and son Gary. After many years, they mutually agreed to go their separate ways.
In 1950, Micki married Robert L Dibble, and they would receive two beautiful blessings; a daughter, Jeanne, and a son Robert. They would later go their separate ways, and Micki would move on to follow her dreams.
On September 8, 1958 Micki married Floyd Sechrest in Boise, ID. It was with Floyd, that Micki would find new hope on her horizon. Both Floyd and Micki each had children from previous marriages. Floyd’s beautiful daughter, Joanne, joined by Micki’s children; Gayle, Jeanne, Gary, and Robert would join this blessed and blended family. Micki and Floyd soon found that with a lot of prayer, work and cooperation from everyone, they could make a loving family and they did.
Micki served as Secretary and Treasurer at the Free Will Baptist Church in Boise for 8 years. She assisted Sunday school teachers, and always loved serving the Lord. Micki touched the lives of many whether it was family, friends, or a complete stranger. She had that wonderful smile and open heart filled with compassion to accept many people in her life. She was full of life and loved her family. She lived a purpose driven life one that served God and her family.
Her family and friends would like to offer special gratitude for her son, Gary Wilbert for whom she shared a special relationship. Gary proved to be the most compassionate caregiver a mom could have asked for! Her family would also like to express appreciation to Horizon Home Health and Hospice for the special care that Micki received while at home.
Survivors include her children; Gayle (Agostino) Paoletti, Gary Wilbert, Jeanne Withrow, Robert (Linda) Dibble and stepdaughter, Joanne Stewart. Her grandchildren; Jody, Sarah, Jesse Joe (JJ), Katie, and Corrie, all held a special place in her heart. Also included are numerous cousins, family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Robert and Harriet Duncan; parents, Harry and Elizabeth Duncan; siblings, brother, James Duncan, sister, Leatha Randolph, and her former husbands; Herb (MaryJo) Wilbert, Robert (Betty) Dibble, Floyd Sechrest; her daughter-in-law Sandy Wilbert; son-in-law, Steve Oliver, and her favorite four legged companion, Thumper.
A private service will be held for the family. In honor of Micki, the family would like to invite family and friends to join them in a celebration of Micki’s beautiful life, when a public gathering is permitted.
