Margaret Mary Seely passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2018 in Meridian, Idaho. She was 96. Margaret was born in Peoria, Illinois on December 18, 1921; the daughter of Richard and Eugenia Dempsey. She attended schools in Peoria, and, while in high school, met Donald Seely, who would become her husband on June 15, 1940. During Don's long military career, and until his retirement in July 1969, Margaret and their family were stationed in many locations around the world. She traveled worldwide as a devoted military wife with their four sons, to Okinawa, France, and Vietnam, with opportunities to visit countries throughout Southeast Asia, Europe, and Central America.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Don, and sons Dennis, Scott, and Kevin, as well as her brothers Jack, Jim and Bob, and sisters Jeanne and Betty. She is survived by sons Randy (Sandy) of Meridian, ID and Greg (Vicki) of Spokane, WA, as well as 11 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Bill, of Wilmington, NC; and Peter, of Los Angeles, CA.
Margaret has requested that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be sent to St Jude's Children's Hospital in Memphis, TN, in memory of her first son, Dennis Dee Seely, who passed away in 1949, shortly before his sixth birthday.
The Seely family extends sincere appreciation to the professional, attentive staff at Spring Creek Assisted Living in Meridian, where she spent the last seven years of her long life, as well as to the wonderfully-caring staff of Treasure Valley Hospice.
Services will take place on Monday, October 1, 2018 at Cloverdale Funeral Home. A viewing with take place from 1-2pm with a service to follow.
