Mark W. Powell, 77 of Emmett Idaho, passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at his home with
family by his side. Mark was born September 18, 1944, in Council Idaho, a son of the late Mark
H. and Bessie M. Powell.
He was a graduate from Borah High School and enlisted in the US Army where he served in
Vietnam and earned two medals. Mark spent 40 years as a heavy equipment operator and was
a member of the Idaho Houndsmen Association. Mark enjoyed years of hunting with his hounds
in pursuit of bears, mountain lions, raccoons and bobcats. He was a hard working man and a
pillar for his family and children whom he tremendously loved.
Mark is survived by his three sons, Mark J. Powell of Emmett, Bryant A. Powell (Donna) of
Horseshoe Bend, Trevor W.J. Powell (Laura) of Mountain Home; two sisters, Linda Borchert,
Donna Turnbough; one brother, Dan Powell; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
A viewing will be held Monday October 18, from 6:00pm-8:00pm at the Cloverdale Funeral
Home. The memorial service with military honors, will be held October 19, at 3:00pm at the
Cloverdale Funeral Home.
