Mary Ann Messinger

Our dear Mama, MaryAnn DeLancey Messinger, 83, Boise, passed away Sunday morning February 25, 2018, after a long illness. She died with her devoted and loving daughter Kerrie at her side under hospice care.

Mom was born on April 8, 1934 to Marguerite and Maurice DeLancey. She was raised in Altoona, PA and loved Drama and Theater classes and swimming at the Spruce Creek swimming hole. She met our father while serving in the Air Force at
Mitchell Air Force Base Long Island, NY. They were married and returned to Salt Lake City, UT. All three kids were born in Utah and we were raised in Murray.

Mom was an avid swimmer and would bring us to Murray Park's pool almost every summer weekday. We all loved eating dinner on warm summer nights on our patio admiring the beautiful view of Mount Olympus in the background. She adored Christmas and made our house a welcoming wonderland every holiday, and so enjoyed our annual Christmas open house for friends and family. She loved her children and husband dearly. The family moved to Boise, ID in 1976.

Mom is survived by her husband William Blake Messinger of Boise, ID; their three children Kerrie and husband Bill Mattravers of Boise, ID, William Blake Messinger of New York, NY, Maurice Brett Messinger and wife Nancy of Fullerton, CA; their four grandsons, Jared Mattravers and wife Jenny, Matthew Messinger and wife Tamara, Caleb Mattravers and wife Maureen and Scott Messinger and wife Crena; six great-grandchildren, Maci, Owen, Walter, Marty, Patrick and Luken, and many other relatives and friends.

There will be a Funeral Gathering at Cloverdale Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, March 4, 2018 at 2:00 PM with Military Honors under the direction of Cloverdale Funeral Home.
