Mary Ann Watson
February 25, 2019
Be the first to offer your condolences on Mary's Tribute Wall
Mary Ann Watson, 82, of Boise, Idaho, left this world peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at the home of her son where she resided. Born on May 27, 1936 to Elmer and Millicent (Pepple) Okert, she was raised on a farm with her sisters Shirley and Carolyn near Carrington, ND. At age thirteen, the family moved to a dairy farm in Eugene, OR and returned to farm in ND in 1951. After graduating from Carrington High School, she moved to Fargo, ND employed as an operator with the phone company. Mary married Charles Watson on November 28, 1957. They resided for a short time in Mobile, AL and Minneapolis, MN before settling on the farm in Carrington, ND. After retiring they moved from the farm and resided in the city of Carrington until after Charles’ death in 2014.
Mary had so many talents. She loved to make crafts and things with her hands, sometimes the entire stove top was covered in double boilers melting wax to be poured into candle molds. She created decorative sand vases, Christmas wreaths, stained glass window decorations and paintings. With her green thumb she could make anything grow from tiny flowers to 9 ft tall cactus and huge Aloe plants. People driving by would often stop to compliment her on her flower garden. She was a loving mother who dedicated her life to her family. She labored hard driving grain trucks and tractors on the farm and sheltered many frost-bitten new born calves in the basement. Mary loved God and made sure that her children had every opportunity to have a relationship with our Lord. She enjoyed playing the organ for 40 years at Calvary Baptist Church. She will be sadly missed by many but now she can run through fields of flowers which she loved so much.
Mary is survived by her son Douglas (Ronda) Watson of Boise, ID and daughter Karen (Randy) Kinzler of Jamestown, ND; seven grand-daughters and twenty-one great grand-children. her sister, Carolyn (Ron) Weisenberger of Sioux Falls, SD; and her sister-in-law Ruth Johnson of Rochester, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents; baby brother David, sister Shirley; and her husband.
A memorial service will be held to honor of Mary on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at 3:00 pm at Cloverdale Funeral Home in Boise, ID.
The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. Matthew 7:25
For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage one another with these words. 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18
