Tribute

Mary Francis Wiedenfeld

May 7, 1943 ~ September 12, 2021

Mary (Stilwell) Wiedenfeld, 78, passed away September 12, 2021 at home surrounded by family after surviving pancreatic cancer with the help of good doctors and God, cancer free, for twelve years. These years were enjoyed very much with a lot of family get-togethers and trips through most of the Western States and Alaska.

Born in Nampa, Idaho, she was the daughter of Edward and Ada Stilwell and was the oldest of seven siblings. Raised on a small farm she learned to cook and help care for family. She graduated from high school in 1961 and attended Nampa cosmetology school where she graduated with a degree.

Mary and Marvin’s mothers worked together at Stones Poultry in Nampa and became very good friends. In 1957, at the age of thirteen, Mary met her future husband, Marvin Wiedenfeld, and the remained good friends with lots of two family fishing trips until 1962 when Marvin proposed marriage. She thought he was just joking around and said, “Why not?” Then she found out he was serious. They were married Aug. 11, 1962. From this union were born four children, Dianna Wiedenfeld (Dave) Kennedy, Mike (Linda), David (Erin), and Donald (Alli) Wiedenfeld; as well as eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

When they first got married Mary said she would look for a job to help out and Marvin asked her to be a stay at home wife for awhile just to see if he could make it work with one income. It did work out and she was a stay at home mom. But it always upset her when people would say, “Oh, you do not work?” Needless to say Mary was a wonderful wife and mother. Her kids always said that it sure was nice to come home from school and mother was there to greet them.

Marvin and Mary were married for 59 years, 1 month, and 1 day. Mary is survived by her husband, Marvin.
