Michael Joseph Chernik was born on July 13, 1958 in Little Rock Arkansas. He passed away at the age of 61 at his home in Meridian, ID on June 16, 2020 from complications of A.L.S. He survived two separate cancers in 2017, he was a fighter.
Michael had a passion for creating his own Halloween graveyard creatures and decorations. He also enjoyed wood working, building, music and cooking. He was a talented man.
Michael loved to laugh and enjoy life. He had a way of brightening the day with his sense of humor and smile. He had the kindest heart and was always full of spirit. He was a genuine friend to many. He would go out of his way to please people and make them happy.
Michael was survived by his wife Shan Chernik, from Meridian ID. His children: Brian Chernik and his wife Angie, Christeen Molchan and Husband Andre (all from Riverside CA), Cheryl Fish and Husband Daniel from Eagle ID. He had four Grandchildren: Lila Molchan, Bohdan Chernik, Victoria Wyatt and Shianna Fish. He had two sisters and one brother, Cathy Burrow and Husband Bud from Bakersfield CA, John Chernik and Betty Chernik from Riverside CA. He had three nieces and one nephew, Nina Manzo and husband Tony and their two children Nicolo and Tommy from San Diego CA, Sonia Zamora from Riverside CA, Trish Reyes and husband Nick and their son Grayson from San Tan Valley AZ, Eric Burrows and his daughters Penelope and Paige from Bakersfield CA.
He is preceded in death by his father John A. Chernik and Mother Mary S. Chernik, both from Brooklyn NY but resided in Riverside CA.
Michael worked at Monterey Domes from 1979-1986. In 1986 he started working for the United States Postal Service, where he retired in December of 2016. He also worked at the Treasury Store and Alpha Beta in his younger years.
