Nancy Louise Gibb

November 9, 1937 ~ March 24, 2020 (age 82) 82 Years Old

Tribute

On Tuesday, March 24, 2020, Nancy Louise (Hodge) Gibb of Boise, Idaho, passed away peacefully at the age of 82, at the home of her daughter with her family by her side.

She was born November 9, 1937 in Portland, Oregon to Steve D. and Louise K. (Horn) Hodge. Nancy was the fourth of their nine children: Rollan, Hollie, George A., Nancy, James, Wendy, Joann, Marion, and Donna Faye.

In 1964, she married Warren “Bud” Gibb of Biggsville, Illinois in Boise, Idaho. Between them, they had eight children they loved dearly along with their families: Paul (Kathy) Gibb of Biggsville, Illinois; Sandra (Bill) Kendall of Nampa, Idaho; Jane (Bob) Gregory of Longview, Washington; Jerry Hodge of Boise, Idaho; Scott Williams of Stevensville, Montana; Martha Nelson of Boise, Idaho; Janice Smith of Nampa, Idaho; Karena Koutroulis of Boise, Idaho. Nancy loved keeping up with her many grandchildren, great- and great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many relatives.

Nancy worked much of her life. She worked at The Royal Restaurant in Boise, where she met Bud. She was a head cook at Union High School, a business owner, and retired from Albertson’s as a Customer Service Manager. She was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and loved to volunteer as much as she could. Her interests included researching family history, visiting loved ones and attending family gatherings, taking road trips, camping, and exploring all kinds of historical sites such as old barns and churches. She loved gardening, being outdoors, sewing, and enjoyed watching synchronized swimming. She was an amazing cook and loved sharing her skills in the kitchen with her kids and grandkids. And, no matter where she went, she always collected little treasures to remind her of her trips.

She was preceded in death by her brother Marion, daughter Janice, son Scott, husband Bud, her parents Steve and Louise, and siblings Rollan, Hollie, Donna Faye, and George A.

Nancy’s door was always open to family and friends. She loved being around her family and was so warm and approachable. She was dearly loved by all who knew her.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date, when the family can all gather together in good health.
