Nora (Kleha) Myers, 94, of Meridian, ID passed away on Friday, December 31, 2021 of natural causes.
Nora was born on November 12, 1927, in Scranton, PA. She was the tenth of 13 children born to Anna Fedorick and John Kleha. At the age of 13, she left her parent’s home to live with her oldest sister, Mary. One night at a dance, she met a handsome young man named Arthur (Art) Myers; the two were married on July 4, 1946. They enjoyed 74 years of life together until Art passed away in August of 2020. Together they had two daughters, Susan and Marilyn. They lived for many years in Vestal, NY before being transferred to IBM to North Carolina. Later, she and Art moved to Idaho to be with one of their daughters and grandson. She became lovingly known as “Nana.”
Nora loved to stay busy. If she wasn’t at her job, she’d be busy cleaning or shopping. Once her daughters were in school, she held a variety of office jobs – some of which were at Endicott Johnson Shoes, Phelps Insurance, Bank of New York, and IBM Credit Union. After retiring from full-time positions, she and Art traveled all over the United States and she worked part-time as a restaurant hostess until she was 82 years old. Nora also loved the holidays and enjoyed decorating her house. She loved to have family over for a big delicious Thanksgiving meal. From Thanksgiving to Christmas, every weekend was spent making Christmas cookies (and shopping) – she would have dozens of cookies in the freezer ready for guests. Nora also enjoyed entertaining the neighborhood kids.
Nora is survived by her daughter Susan Bartleson and husband Steve, daughter Marilyn Seymore and grandson David, and sister Eva (Kleha) Ricardi. Nora is preceded in death by her father John, mother Anna, and the following brothers and sisters: Nicholas, Mary, Michael, Anna, John, Katheryn, Olga, Vera, Stephen, Walter, and Helen.
