He graduated from Palm Beach High School, West Palm Beach, FL in the class of 1947 and was an outstanding three sport letterman. He was voted Senior Class Most Valuable Athlete.

Dale was a veteran of the Korean War and was deployed to Wiesbaden, Germany. During his deployment, he was on the USAF baseball and football teams and traveled throughout Europe and North Africa to compete. In Wiesbaden, he met love of his life, Lynda Avant Lasswell. Dale and Lynda were married in Wiesbaden, in 1953 and had a wedding celebration in Hendersonville, NC after they were both discharged. They soon moved to West Palm Beach, where they raised their four children. Dale spent his career working for the United States Post Office, retiring in 1985. Not ready full retirement, he spent another ten years working for the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Department. He was a people person and always had a story to share with a sense of humor all his own. Dale was a friend of Bill Wilson’s for 44 years.

In 2006 Dale and Lynda followed daughters Toni and Rhonda to Boise, Idaho. They moved to Touchmark at Meadow Lake Village in Meridian, Idaho where they resided until both passed away. They both loved living at Touchmark, being in the West, meeting new friends, and staying active. Dale was a cast member of the Meadow Lake Thespians Group. He could be seen in every production for the past 9 nine years, using that booming voice of his to make everyone smile. He was an avid Bingo player and quickly became the official TIME keeper every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

He was a loyal Florida Gator, Miami Dolphin, and Atlanta Brave fan before moving to Idaho. He quickly became a Bronco follower, but never gave up on his East coast teams! His family was the most important part of his life; he loved each one dearly and was truly the Patriarch of the Lasswell family.
