March 31, 1949 ~ May 8, 2021 (age 72) 72 Years Old

Tribute

Pamela Harvey Puderbaugh, 72, passed away on May 8, 2021 with her daughters by her side in Boise, Idaho. Pam was born the second of four children on March 31, 1949 to Marie Barber Harvey and Howard “Harry” Harvey in Spokane, WA but was raised in Boise, Idaho.

Growing up, Pam was an accomplished swimmer for the Boise Y Swim Team, beating her sister Kit many, many, times. She had fond memories of high school, making lifelong friendships, and she enjoyed reconnecting with those former classmates who actually made something of themselves later in life. After graduating from Borah High School in 1967, Pam went on to get her associates degree in accounting.

Pam married that ne’er-do-well Alan Puderbaugh on July 21, 1969. The two eventually settled in Portland, Oregon where Pam began a career in banking. Pam and Alan had two daughters, Andrea born in 1972 and Kristen in 1977 before their marriage ended in 1983. Pam was able to overcome the obstacles of juggling a full-time career as a bank manager at Far West Federal bank while being a wonderful single mother and navigating the treacherous world of dating before the online era. She always ensured her daughters knew she loved them more than anything (until her grandchildren came along). She later worked for the Oregon State Bar’s Professional Liability Fund until retirement in 2012. She then was able to relocate back to Boise. She loved spending time with her family and especially watching her grandchildren grow. She made it a point to tell each of the grandkids that they were her favorite, but we all knew it was Wesley.

She will be remembered for her sarcastic wit and dry sense of humor. We will miss trying to shock Pam with our shenanigans; she could dish it just as well as she could take it. She was a voracious reader who loved nearly all genres of books. And boy was she a fabulous cook; we all looked forward to one of Pammy’s meals. She also liked to garden, judge people, and make sure she was dressed to the nines.

Pam is survived by her two daughters Andrea Puderbaugh and Kristen Young (Todd) and her three grandchildren, Stella, Tyler, and Wesley Young. She is also survived by her three siblings Kathleen “Kit” Harvey, Rich Harvey (Kathy), and John Harvey (Nancy).

There will be no funeral service at this time. Instead, we plan to throw a farewell party in her honor at a later date with those people she somewhat tolerated. Pam will be greatly missed; we sure lost a sassy one.
