Patricia Ann Webster

Patricia Ann Hoopes Webster was born in Rexburg, Idaho in 1945 to Mary Barbara Hoopes and Ralph Clark Hoopes. She married Guy Lynn Webster in 1962, and together they moved quite a bit in the early years for Guy’s work—to Colorado, California, Iowa, and Tennessee—before returning to Idaho to raise their children and open a bookstore, the Little Professor Book Center. Though Patricia had dropped out of school in the eighth grade, she believed in the power of education, and the month son Christopher started high school and daughter Kerri started junior high, Patricia began college, in three years completing a Bachelor’s of Business Administration with Honors at Boise State University, then working for several decades at Ore-Ida and later Boise Cascade.
Patricia and Guy raised four children—Christopher Guy Webster of Boise, Kerri Wade Webster of Boise, Rachael Elizabeth Stivers of Portland, and Sarah Marielle Stivers of Portland—and loved each of them with their whole hearts, as they did Sarah’s daughter, September. Her children will spend the rest of their lives marveling at how blessed they were to be raised by such a remarkable woman, and will be daily guided by her unwavering sense of right and wrong.
In addition to her husband and children, she is survived by her sister Kay Schmitt and her family: her brother John Hoopes and his family; and her sister- and brother-in-law, RaNae and Ron John.
She is preceded in death by her mother Barbara and beloved sister Cindy.
