Richard James Cook

Richard “Ricky” James Cook, born April 8, 1999 passed away from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident the morning of July 30, 2018. He was a beloved son of Mary Martin-Tambini and Richard Edmund Cook. He was born in Porterville, California but lived most of his life in Idaho. The family’s nicknames for Ricky’s were “The Kid” or “Icky” because of his good nature and his gentleness with the younger members of his family. Ricky was larger than life, always had a smile for everyone he met and was a friend to all. Anyone who was fortunate to know him knew him to be fiercely loyal to his family and friends, with a wonderful sense of humor and his love of life. Ricky loved doing anything in the outdoors: rafting, jet boating and fishing on the Salmon, Snake and Payette Rivers, snowmobiling on Smith Mountain near Bear, ID, and horse riding and hunting in the Gospel Hump Wilderness.

Ricky is survived by his parents and three brothers: Tanner, Cade and Tristan Cook; Grandmothers: Geraldine Cook and Judy Cook; Grandmother and Grandfather Brenda & Jim Martin; Aunts and Uncles Kesler Ernest and Pete Skamser, Zabrina and Al Hazeltine; his Aunts Karen Cook & Vonnie Gesinske; his cousins: Aislyn Wandell, Jennifer Hazeltine, Alenna Hazeltine; second cousins: Sophia Green, Stella Wandell, Samantha Cook and Andrew Cook; his Great Uncle and Aunt Rolan & Jeanette Cook; and Great Aunt Charmaine Ryan.

Ricky’s family is hosting an open house celebration of his life on Saturday August 11, 2018 from 3 - 7 p.m. at his Aunt and Uncle’s home: 4389 W Long Meadow Dr, Boise, ID 83714 all who knew and loved Ricky are welcome to join the family.
