Robert Emmet Carton
Robert (Bob) Emmet Carton II, dearly loved brother, uncle, and friend, died peacefully on March 19, 2024 at the age of 76 in Boise, Idaho. He was a cancer survivor. He was born on April 11, 1947 to Nora E. Carton and Robert Emmet Carton in Mendham, New Jersey. He lived in multiple places in New Jersey before moving to Boise, Idaho in 1999. Bob graduated from West Morris Central High School. He then enlisted in the United States Navy and served from 1967 to 1971 as an airplane mechanic aboard the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise, working on a squadron of Douglas A-1 Skyraiders. Bob was honorably discharged and is a veteran of the Vietnam War. He then went to Lincoln Technical Institute where he obtained his HVAC certification. Bob was an experienced HVAC technician. He started his career with Ludlow Heating and Cooling in Bernardsville, New Jersey and continued in Boise as part of the Western Heating and Air Conditioning team. Bob was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors. His free time was spent enjoying the woods and streams of both New Jersey and Idaho. He could often be found there with his nephews, grandnephew, and friends. He was a member of the Mendham Farmer’s and Sportsman’s Game Association in Mendham Borough, New Jersey and the Emmett Gun Club in Emmett, Idaho. Bob was preceded in death by his mother and father. He is survived by his sister Mary Elizabeth Reid, nephews Michael Shawn Reid and Timothy Patrick Reid, his four grandnieces, and grandnephew. He will be missed. Bob will be laid to rest at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery.
