Roger Eugene Mitchell

Roger Eugene Mitchell, 70, of Veneta, Oregon passed away on December, 14, 2022 after a brief serious illness.

Roger was born on November 2, 1952 to Frank and Charlotte Mitchell in Boise. After graduating from Boise High School in 1971, he went on to become a journeyman electrician and follow in the footsteps of his father, Frank.

In 1977, he met Sue changing a lightbulb over her desk, and they wed in 1978. Roger was a mover and a shaker, he owned Royal Electric in Boise, Idaho in 1983. He spent many years honing his skills as an electrician and creating lifelong professional relationships in Union local IBEW 291. Roger and Sue moved to Veneta, Oregon in 2000. Roger built his career in Oregon as an esteemed electrician, project manager and estimator.

Roger was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned. He was unendingly proud of Matt, Jesica, Jenni, and Sue and did his best to support them. He was a devoted grandfather and uncle. Roger loved spending time with his grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and grand-nieces and grand-nephews. It brought him great joy to play Santa during the holidays.

Roger was a passionate outdoorsman, animal lover, leather worker, candle maker, woodworker and tailgater. He could often be found making, fixing or just hanging-out in one of his craft buildings on his property in Veneta. Roger enjoyed going to the UofO football games and tailgating with friends, family and neighbors.
