I am so sorry to read about Ron. He was a great guy and a good friend. Bob and I had so many fun RV trips with Ron and Betty over the years. We laughed and talked and just enjoyed each other's company. Betty, I am praying for you as you start your journey through grief, as I have been doing for the last 2 years. Love to you and your family.

First and foremost grandpa I love and will miss you everyday. You were the very best grandpa anyone could have ever dreamed of having. There are so many great memories I could share but I will just tell a couple. You used to take us everywhere and on a trip to Phillips Lake I remember a game we played you said I would get a penny for every minute I was quite boy I thought I was gonna get rich but I think it lasted maybe a couple minutes. Grandpa you taught me so much one of the most important was you never meet a stranger and to treat all people with respect and the way that you would want them to treat you. I remember grandpa was the one that taught me so many things but the one thing I still love to do today is fish and I promise you grandpa I will keep the tradition going and taking all the other grandkids and great grandkids to Phillips Lake and all the other places you would take me and I will teach them the same way you taught me to fish. I will finish by saying grandpa you were also taught me family is important and is the key to happiness and I now know that's true. Not only were you the best grandpa but you were one of the best men I know and it is a privilege to be your grandson.

Love your grandson,

Mike Johnson

Ron, my father in law or my 2nd dad, was a man among men. He was one of the finest men I ever knew, honest kind and a real leader . Ron was always there when needed but never in the way as many father in laws could be. He offered advice but never pushed it on us. Other than my own father Ron taught me more about being a man than any other person in my life. More than anything else in my life Ron and his wife Betty gave me there daughters hand in marriage 47 year ago this week and for that I will forever love and respect Ron and Betty. May God hold Rod in his hands and we will see him again when we get to Heaven. See you soon Dad
