Sally Dollarhide

May 16, 1936 ~ February 25, 2021 (age 84) 84 Years Old

Tribute

Sarah May Dollarhide, or who most of us know her as “Sally”, passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at the age of 84 at home surrounded by her loving family.

Sally was born on May 16, 1936 in Houston, Texas to Joseph and Daisy Cunningham along with her siblings Patricia, Mary, and Joe. She grew up in San Diego, California, from there she married and then moved to Port Angeles, Washington, and from there moved to Juneau, Alaska, finally settling in Boise, Idaho. She attended Pacific Beach Elementary, Pacific Beach Junior High, and La Jolla High School. Sally had many friends throughout her life, included among those are her special friend Utanah, childhood friends Elaine and Verna, and Judy in Port Angeles.

Sally loved many things. She loved to cook, bake, play cards, dance, and laugh. She had her own unique style of dress, loved to shop, and it pleased her to no end to be referred to as “Dahling.” She was active in many endeavors: she attended Sunday School in Port Angeles, Washington, was a member of a dance club in Juneau, Alaska, and was a member of the Red Hats Society. Sally fondly remembers working for the Wonderbread bakery in Boise, Idaho. Sally held faith in her own way and considered herself (in her own words) “a no good Baptist.”

Sally is preceded in death by her two children, Darci and Michael Dollarhide. She is survived by her siblings, Patricia Fitzpatrick, Mary Lillian Buompensiero, and Joseph Cunningham; granddaughter, Megan Dollarhide-Crawford; grandchildren, Jocelynn Campbell, Serenity Crawford, Nevaeh Crawford, Tiana Crawford, and Gabriel Crawford; niece and nephews, Kellie, Minta, Stephanie, Debbie, Sean, Joe, Kyle, Mark, and Jeff; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 4th at 12:00 p.m. at the Cloverdale Funeral Home in Boise, Idaho. A private interment will follow at the Cloverdale Memorial Park.

A very special thank you to Sally’s sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Bud, for taking care of all the arrangements.

We love you very much and will miss you dearly.
