When she was 15 years old, she met “the boy next door”, Lauray Fereday. She married her forever sweetheart in August of 1953. They spent over 69 wonderful years sharing their love.
She attended Boise Jr. College, and later she and Lauray began their family of five wonderful boys.
Sharon was very active in the community church and Jaycees. She and Lauray were co-presidents of the Boise PTA Council three times and were awarded lifetime memberships to the National PTA. She was a Den Mother for Cub Scouts, a Member of the Boise Master Chorale, International Reading Assn, and Idaho Educational Media Assn. She taught both Sunday School and Bible School. Sharon and Lauray retired in 1990. They spent part of their winters in Mesa, AZ, and later in Palm Springs, CA. They would take one son’s family on vacation each year, wherever they wanted to go.
Her proudest accomplishments were being the mother of five wonderful young men, being blessed with wonderful daughters-in-law, and being a grandmother to their children.
Her happiest days were spent with her family, whom she loved with all her heart. She spent as much time in Boise as possible, near her family. Her favorite times were when she could get her boys and families together for birthdays and holidays.
She passed away peacefully on September 16th, 2023 with her family in her heart. She is survived by her five sons and their wives: Michael (Jennifer), Mark (Joy), Lauran (Dianne), Eric (Kristi), and Shawn. She had 12 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren, and a great great-grandchild.
