Shelli Jo Mumford

December 9, 1968 ~ April 1, 2018 (age 49) 49 Years Old

Tribute

Shelli passed peacefully, in her sleep on Sunday April 1st, with family by her side.

Shelli was born December 9th 1968 in Boise Idaho, and was raised on the family farm in Kuna. Having 40 acres for a backyard provided room for many adventures. Rather it was riding the 4-wheeler in the corn field, playing in the many barns, or sliding down the frozen silage pit, it was outside that time was spent.

She graduated from Kuna High school, with honors in 1987. She then packed up her yellow Datsun, and went off to Pocatello, where she completed her Bachelor of Science degree, and started her career in health care, as a Registered nurse.  She lived a life of caring for others, both in her profession, and to all who knew her. Shelli was a nurse to family, friends, neighbors, and strangers alike. Her career spanned over 25 years, from nursing at Saint Luke’s, to home health, research, dialysis nursing, where she was able to spend time as a travel nurse, and marking travel destinations off her bucket list, to working with a wonderful group at AmeriBen.

Shelli’s’ passion was the outdoors. Camping, fishing, hiking,  and skiing, were in Shelli’s blood. Rather on a lake, in her float tube, or the river bank, a fishing pole in hand, was where Shelli found solace.  Camping at Silver Creek plunge, as a child was where Shelli’s love for the camping began, and it was only the beginning. Camping with her dad, established a bond that could never be broken. Fishing for Steelhead on the Salmon river, to camping with family at Shepp Ranch, to her favorite campsite, in Idaho at the Trinities.  Fishing on the Kenai Peninsula, and being in Alaska was where Shelli found her peace, and she would have moved there if the winters didn’t have their reputation of being a bit cold.

Shelli was proceeded in death by father, Gary Mumford, mother Peggy Mumford, grandparents, Jerrell and Ailleen Mumford, and Forrest and Maxine Moore-(Ghaddie and Bampa.) Shelli is survived by, her sister Terri Johnson (Tommy), her beloved nieces, Leanna Hafoka-(Talafili and Viliami Hafoka), Ashley Johnson-(Dax Vanderjak), and Madison Johnson, her aunt Marcia Davis, aunt Ann Doty (Marvin) 8 cousins, 18 second cousins, as well as extended family.

A celebration of Shelli’s life will be Friday April 6th at 11:00am at Cloverdale Funeral Home, located at 1200 N. Cloverdale Rd. Boise. Graveside service to follow at the Kuna Cemetery, as well as a celebration of life dinner, at the Kuna Event Center.
