Shirley Morton, age 94, went home to heaven to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, February 21st 2018 after a full, satisfied life.

She was born Shirley Loretta Stevenson on January 18th 1924 in Cherokee, IA to John and Mabel Stevenson. She had two brothers and one sister. She married James A. Morton on June 3rd in 1942. They were married 42 years before being separated by his death. Her husband was a WWII Vet and served as a tail gunner in a B25 in the Pacific.

Shirley loved her Lord above all else and was very close to all her family. Shirley made the best pies and chicken and noodles; her family would gather from all over to eat at her table. She also loved to fish and would then invite the family for a fish fry. Shirley and Jim would travel back to Iowa and Wisconsin for family reunions and reconnect with family and friends. She was a devoted mother and together with Jim taught their boys to love the Lord and to respect others. Once you made friends with Shirley, you had a friend for life. She attended church regularly, but in later years, she enjoyed “church” at home watching Jimmy Swaggart.

She is survived by two sons, James E. Morton (Ida), Robert F. Morton (Glenda), two grandsons, four great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren. Shirley was deeply loved and will be missed greatly.
