Shirley Joan Spiva

  Shirley J Spiva, 89, of Boise, Idaho, passed away at St. Alphonsus Hospital on Friday, November 30, 2018.  She was born to John and Ellen Andrews on February 25, 1929 in Cle Elum, Washington.
  Shirley met Willie in 1949 in Boise through a friend.  They were married at Wright Community Church on August 14, 1949 in Boise and were together for over 69 years.  That bond created two wonderful children.  Shirley was an extraordinary Wife, Mother, and person.  She was one of the kindest people you would ever meet.  Everyone who knew Shirley just loved her.
  Shirley loved just about everything life had to offer.  They did a lot of camping when the kids were young, riding motorcycles and going fishing.  Mom and Dad also loved to travel, visiting Mexico, Alaska, the Oregon Coast, and going on Cruises.  Mom also loved being at home enjoying her various gardens with an abundance of flowers and various plants.  Mom was always pulling weeds out of her flowers, and the yard plus numerous gardens were very well kept.  Shirley was very proud of the home they made in Boise.
  Mom’s favorite time of year was Christmas.  She just loved the Holidays.  Mom always made wonderful dinners.  Even though we tried to put a limit on spending at Christmas, Mom just ignored it and spoiled everyone with way too many gifts.  She got a lot of pleasure out of doing that.  Shirley probably felt that limits did not apply to her, because she was Mother.
  Willie and Shirley had a lot of friends with which they went to dinner every Saturday night, then over to the house to play cards till late in the evening and have various desserts.  This was their ritual for many years.
  Shirley leaves behind her husband Willie, a daughter, Deborah Turner (Dave) of Boise, and a Son, Larry Spiva of Federal Way, Washington, and two Sister in laws, Cora Spiva and June Cloyd, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins on both sides of the family.  She was preceded in death by her parents John and Ellen Andrews, Audra and Clarence Holloway (in-laws), and Wayne Spiva, her brother-in-law.
   Services will be held at 2:00 pm on December 6, 2018 at Cloverdale Chapel located at 1200 North Cloverdale Road, Boise, Idaho.
