Thomas Edd Peterson

July 20, 2021

Tribute

On May 20, 1938 a baby was born to Edward and Josephine Peterson that would impact a family and leave an amazing legacy. Thomas "Tom" Edd Peterson had 3 brothers, Gene, John "Jack", and Doug Russell, and a sister Patricia "Pat" Titherington. In 1959, while on leave from the army, he came home and his sister Pat introduced him to a beautiful young lady and within approximately 6 months they were married!

After a short military career he attended college and was hired by IBM as a Computer Technician, fixing computers when they were the size of a small room.

On May 19, 1960 Tom married his beloved wife Marilyn "Kay" Hyde, or "Blue Eyes" as he loved to call her. They shared 42 years and many memories in the time before Kay passed into glory in 2002. They shared 6 beautiful children, 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. In 2005 Tom reconnected with his high-school sweetheart, Kristine "Kris" Cote.  They became engaged and have shared the last 16 years together. Kris says she found her soulmate in Tom.

Tom's greatest passions were his Lord and Savior, his family, baking and the great outdoors. His greatest desire was for his Savior to come as promised in the Bible. He loved looking at prophecy in the scripture and seeing the small signs that were promised come to pass. He spoke of wanting all of his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and his fiancé to come to a saving knowledge of Jesus so he could be with them for eternity. He loved baking breads, rock hounding, gardening (oh how he loved his pepper plants!) and being outside even if only mowing the lawn or looking after his sheep. He looked forward to the harvest when everyone would come for pumpkins and he always shared anything he grew and/or made. He attempted to build a boat hoping to one day take his grandkids out fishing and he also loved trains, often going on walks to the tracks by his home.

Tom is survived by his children:
Tamela “Tami” White (Kuna, ID), her 3 children and 7 grandchildren; Cynthia “Cindi” (Ron) Allen (Sioux Falls, SD), their 2 children and 1 grandchild; Stephanie Cortez (Kuna, ID), her 3 children and 2 grandchildren; Cathleen “Cathi” (Manuel) Gonzalez (Nampa, ID) and their 2 children; Thomas (Chayla) Peterson II (Caldwell, ID) and their 4 children; and Clarissa “Ree” Peterson (Kuna, ID). He is also survived by his fiancé Kristine "Kris" Cote and his sister Patricia "Pat" (Eldon) Titherington and their families.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Josephine, his Blue Eye's Marilyn "Kay" and his brothers Gene, Jack and Doug Russell along with their wives.

Grave side services will be officiated by Pastor Ray Ellis August 2, 2021 at the Kuna Cemetery. The family asks in lieu of flowers that you take time to share the gospel with a loved one, work in your garden, go rock hounding, spend time building relationships with family and friends, go camping or spend time outdoors--all the things he loved.
