Tribute

William Edgar Kaiser III (Rusty), resident of Eagle, Idaho, passed away suddenly on Thursday,
April 18, 2024.

Rusty was born on October 4 1955 to Bill and Helen Kaiser in Fresno, California. One year later
the family moved to Los Altos, California. Rusty attended St. William Elementary School and
Saint Francis High School, graduating in 1974. Rusty was always an avid sports fan. Both the
San Jose Sharks and the San Francisco Forty Niners were his two favorite teams. He also loved
the San Francisco Giants and was in the parking lot during the World Series between the Giants
and the Oakland A’s when the Loma Prieta Earthquake hit in 1989. While in high school, Rusty
along with his brother Jeff and friend Jim Shattock formed a street hockey team. With some
money from the Los Altos Kiwanis Club and a few others he was able to build the goals and
play on Sundays against Los Altos High students. The local paper even did a story about their
street hockey team. After graduating from Saint Francis High School, Rusty attended Foothill
Junior College where he was a goalie on the soccer team. Rusty moved to Chico in 1976 to
attend California State University Chico.

In 1982, Rusty moved back to Los Altos to manage St. James Infirmary, a local bar and grill. He
spent the next several years in the restaurant industry and in 2000 switched careers to
operations management for several high tech companies.
In 1987 Rusty married Lorri and they had their son Liam in 1999. In 2013, they all moved to
Eagle, Idaho. Liam attended Bishop Kelly High School where he played on the hockey team.
Rusty was so thrilled to watch Liam play he immediately volunteered to be the team manager.
He was also the president of the Bishop Kelly Parent Club and was a very active volunteer for
the school. Rusty retired in 2016.

Rusty is survived by his wife Lorri, married for 37 years, their son Liam, his brother Jeff (Laura)
and their girls Sarah Kaiser, Rebecca (Mike) Nadolski and their boys Wyatt and Henry, his sister
Terry Dean (Tom) and their girls Lucy (Cliff) Koontz and Lizzie Dean, along with numerous
cousins.

Rusty will always be remembered for his extreme kindness and generosity. He never met a
stranger and even through the toughest times, always had a smile, a nice thought and probably
a gift or two for those who were a part of his life.
