Cynthia Ellen Kamper

Cindy Ellen Kamper, 60, of Meridian passed away on October 6, 2019. She was born on January 8, 1959 in Artesia, California to Walter and Nellie Lekkerkerker. She grew up working on her family dairy, Lekker Holsteins, in Chino, California. Cindy attended Ontario Christian High School and graduated in 1977. Following graduation, she pursued her passion to work with animals and became a Registered Animal Health Technician. Cindy married Craig Kamper on April 18, 1980. Ten years later, they moved to Meridian, Idaho to raise their family and start their own dairy, CraCin Holsteins. Cindy enjoyed raising her five beautiful kids on the dairy, just like she was raised. Cindy was a loving mother of five children, whom she called her pride and joy.

Cindy was an amazing craft artist and opened “Got Stamps?”, a rubber stamp store, in 1997. After seven years of inspiring others through her passion for crafts, she decided to sell the business to attend all her children’s sporting events and return to animal health. She began working at Intermountain Pet Hospital, where she passionately worked for 12 years. Throughout her years of employment at Intermountain Pet Hospital, she had the joy of working alongside 4 of her children. Cindy finished out her animal health career at WestVet in Garden City. Outside of her career in animal health, Cindy bred golden retrievers and ragdoll cats. Cindy Kamper’s puppies and kittens are an extension of her love and kindness to so many families.

Those who knew Cindy will remember her as a woman of love. She loved the Lord with all her heart, soul, and mind and that was evident in the way she loved others.  Cindy was always there to greet you with a smile, a listening ear, and a sincere conversation. The warmth of her love could be felt through her steadfast prayers, seen through her beautifully crocheted blankets, and tasted through her baked desserts.

There is nothing Cindy loved more than being a mother. Her greatest joy was knowing that her children walked in the truth (3 John 1:4). Cindy’s great love for her children was evident in her unrelenting support for each of them.

Cindy’s testimony for the Lord was an example for so many people and her faith was unshakable, especially during the toughest times of her life. Throughout her journey with cancer, she chose to put her trust in the Lord, praise His name without ceasing, and fully submit to the will of God (1 John 5:14). Cindy was a light in this world and that light will continue to shine through the lives she touched.

Cindy is survived by her husband Craig, son Derrick (Heather), daughter Jonelle, son Dustin, son Kevin (Lauren), daughter Lacie, grandchildren Kassi and Hudson, and sister Edith (Vince).
She is preceded in death by her father Walter, mother Nellie, brother Bill, and brother John.

The service to honor Cindy Ellen Kamper will be held at Cloverdale United Reformed Church on Monday, October 14 at 10 am. The service will be followed by a processional to Cloverdale Cemetery and a luncheon at the church.
