Share Tribute:

Margie, 90, of Boise passed away on April 25, 2017 at Country Time Assisted Living in Star, Idaho.

Born May 8, 1926 in Carey, Idaho to Minton and Hazel Peterson. She was the 7th of 11 children and grew up in Carey, where she attended school through the 8th grade. Margie had many great stories and experiences growing up and working on the family farm. Margie met James R. Mallory at a dance and they were married on March 23, 1947. They lived in Hailey for a year and had a daughter, Sandra. They moved to Boise in 1948 and lived there until both of their deaths.

Margie worked as a waitress at CC Anderson (The Bon Marche downtown) and at the Owyhee. She loved her customers, especially her regular customers, which she knew what they wanted before they did. In 1966 their son, Martyn came along while they were building their cabin in Donnelly, where they enjoyed many fun times with family and friends.

Margie was a very active person, from playing golf, bowling, gardening, water skiing and dancing with dad at the Elk's and Eagles Lodges. She enjoyed going with dad and their friends to Arizona for the winter for many years. Mom was always a prankster and liked to tease and have fun with her family, friends and relatives.

Margie is survived by her daughter Sandra and husband Mike Mulchay, son Martyn Mallory and wife Traci, grandchildren Chris Mallory and wife Sarah, Kortney and husband Lance Knopp, Kevin Mallory, Sara Mallory and great grandchild Henry Knopp, a sister Renie Brown and a brother Calvin Peterson and many nieces and nephews. Margie was preceded in death by her grandaughter Paula, husband James Mallory, brothers Cleo, Wayne, Ken, Lee and Leo, sisters Dorothy, Alley, JoAnn.

Margie will be deeply missed by her family and friends. We would like to extend heartfelt appreciation to the owners and staff at County Time Assisted Living, they are amazing and treated Margie as family.
